Note:
This is part of the "old" homepage of the EIoP: from 1 June 2006 onwards,
this site will not be updated any more as there is now a new
EIoP site, based on a modern editorial
software system. EIoP is available
under the same URL as always: |

The new How To
Quote page is here: |

SCHMIDT, Vivien A. (2001), Europeanization and the Mechanics of Economic Policy Adjustment, in: European Integration online Papers (EIoP) Vol. 5 (2001) N° 6 <http://eiop.or.at/eiop/texte/2001-006a.htm>
The EIoP is an online publication; in principle it is quoted as any print journal. However, the following special features have to be observed:
In order to initially or again find the article, you have to give the correct internet address: the internet address for all articles in the EIoP is:
http://eiop.or.at/eiop/texte/xxxx-yyya.htm
(all lower-case letters)
Instead of the "xxxx" you should insert the year of publication,
instead of the "yyy" you need to insert the
current number of the article, e.g.: 2001-006a.htm. You can find the file name not only in
the respective field of your WWW browser ("Location"), but also in the document
head of the abstract and of the EIoP
article itself.
Attention: Do not quote the address of the
full text itself, e.g. in the above example: 2001-006.htm, i.e. without the final "a", but
instead the one of the abstract: 2001-006a.htm. This is because it may happen that the
full text will be deleted from the EIoP archives and only the page of the
abstract remains there. While proceeding as indicated your quote remains viable
and an exact location of the article is still possible. (The reason for the
possible deletion lays in possible copyright problems in case of the
publication of an EIoP paper in a
print journal see the editorial policy.) In any
case, an exact reference to the final place of publication will be given on the
abstract page.
The file structure on the server of the EIoP guarantees, that the internet- (WWW-) address of a contribution to the EIoP will not change, when it is not part of the 'current issue' any more but has been moved to the archives (for the mode of publication see here).
The articles of the EIoP are formatted in a way that allows precise references to ("virtual") pages. At the beginning of each page you find a horizontal rule, followed by the page number.
Attention: Please consider the remarks in relation to the quotation of individual pages according to a print-out of an EIoP article in the help page.
Since the EIoP is not page numbered in sequence (per issue or per volume), it is not necessary to give the pages in the case of a reference list.
Because of the continous mode of publication there are no numbered issues. The current number of the article is the equivalent to the traditional issue number.
The "number of the volume" is as usual based on the year of publication. Therefore, the first set is 1997 and, thus, volume 1.
