RECON Online Working Paper Series

Reconstituting Democracy in Europe (RECON) is an Integrated Project with a duration of five years (2007-2011), supported by the European Commission’s Sixth Framework Programme. RECON seeks to clarify whether democracy is possible under conditions of pluralism, diversity and complex multilevel governance. The RECON Online Working Paper Series publishes pre-print manuscripts on democracy and the democratization of the political order in Europe. The topics of the series correspond to the research focus of RECON's work packages. Papers are available in electronic version only (PDF format).

Quality control policy: Series editors are Professors Erik Oddvar Eriksen and John Erik Fossum, who, together with RECON's work package leaders, constitute the editorial board. All papers are reviewed by at least two members of the board, drawing on external reviewers if necessary. RECON's coordinating institution, ARENA – Centre for European Studies at the University of Oslo, undertakes the editing and publishing of the series.
